Exhibition Plinths supplied an acrylic display case with 3 plinths to Scotland to Helensburgh Heroes. A gallery in Scotland which has an exhibition area, a 50s Cafe and a Retail Area.
On display is the first working television. It was first shown on 26th January 1926 and was invented by John Logie Baird. Baird was from Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire and the gallery were keen to have the television on display there.
The plinths are made from 12mm, made with rounded edges and spray finished. The acrylic display case is 5mm acrylic and solvent welded (chemically bonded) together. Solvent welding is very effective due to the fact it is strong and great in areas of heavy footfall.
If you are in Bonny Scotland you are of course quite far from us in Sunny Somerset! We use a pallet shipping company to transport the items to you if you’re purchasing. Touch wood, to date this has served us very well, we have had no damages or instances where the items have not arrived all in one piece.
If you were to hire glass cabinets, or to have a large van full, then it may be more economical to have a van delivery. Russell will be able to advise you on the telephone when you enquire which is the most economical way to have your items delivered and set up if you require.
It was lovely to receive the following testimonial after delivery:
“We have been planning to open a John Logie Baird exhibition in the town of his birth for many years and we have finally achieved our dream. Many people have contributed to getting us to this stage not least Exhibition Plinths who took on the task, at very short notice of creating three plinths to support and house three of our star attractions. It has been a real pleasure working with them and I can not thank them enough for their support, professionalism and encouragement.” Phil Worms, Trustee, Helensburgh Heroes
