Heavy-Duty 18mm Construction We refuse to use thin, wobbly materials. This plinth is built from 18mm MDF, giving it the structural integrity of a permanent cabinet. It offers the convenience of a flat pack without the “wobble” usually associated with collapsible furniture.

Q: How much weight can these plinths actually hold?
A: Do not let the “flat pack” description fool you. Thanks to the 18mm MDF construction and strong clips, these plinths are incredibly strong. We have successfully stress-tested them with a 200kg motorbike. They are perfectly suitable for heavy sculptures, large floral arrangements, and industrial products.
Q: Do I really not need any tools?
A: Absolutely no tools are required. The 5 panels (4 sides and a top) connect using a specialized heavy-duty clip system. You simply push the panels together until the clips engage. It takes less than 2 minutes to build or break down.
Q: Will the plinth wobble?
A: No. Once the clips are engaged and the top is on, the structure becomes rigid and square. It feels just as solid as a pre-built cabinet.
Q: If I buy the "Standard Spray Finish," will the joints be visible?
A: As this is a collapsible product, there will be a small, neat join line where the panels meet. This is standard for any modular furniture. If you require a completely seamless “museum-style” plinth (where joints are filled and invisible), please look at our standard range of MDF plinths
Q: I want to paint it myself. Which version should I buy?
A: Select the Raw MDF option. We will supply the panels sanded and ready for you to prime and paint. We recommend using a high-quality MDF primer and a foam roller for the best finish.
Q: Are the plastic assembly clips visible from the outside?
A: No, the clips are completely hidden internally. Your display will look clean and professional from every angle.
Q: Can I order a size not listed on the website?

Q: Are these suitable for outdoor use?
A: Standard MDF is not water-resistant and is designed for indoor use only. If you need plinths for an outdoor event, please contact us—we are able to manufacture them using Tricoya MDF which is perfect for outdoor use.
Q: How small do they pack down?
A: Extremely small. When disassembled, the plinth is only as thick as the 5 stacked panels (roughly 90mm – 100mm total). They are easy to slide into the back of a car, store under a bed, or tuck away in a cupboard.
